Dream a Little Dream of We

By Tamara Fernando

About the choreography Dream a Little Dream of We
The work explores the transition from individuality to collectivity, where two bodies confront the illusions and expectations projected onto each other. It questions what shared reality we truly experience, as the dancers challenge and share their perspectives, navigating between solitude and fusion, mimicry and rejection. They express the tensions and contradictions of mutual perceptions. From isolation to unity, the dancers seek to find their place within the collective “we,” stripping away the masks of illusion and exploring the complexity of human connection

About the choreographer
Tamara Fernando is a French-Sri Lankan choreographer. She has danced with Ballet National de Marseille, Ballett Basel, and Blanca Li, collaborating with artists such as Stromae and Prince. In 2021, she founded La Mamma Company to develop her choreographic work. Her pieces Malafemmena, Dream a Little Dream of We, and Parle avec elle(s) explore themes of gender and intergenerational dialogue. Alongside her work with the company, she also collaborates on external projects in theater and live music. Her work has been supported by CCN Ballet de Lorraine and Micadanses.

Brothers - Justin de Jager & Sem Deliveyne

Brothers

by Justin de Jager & Sem Deliveyne

About the choreography Brothers
Brothers focuses on the theme of ‘brotherhood’. A journey through entanglements and struggle, but also intimacy and connection. The piece is embodied by the movement concept of threading, which comes from breaking. The brothers are stuck in a loop and feel a deep desire to break loose. Once separated, they wish they didn’t.

About the choreographers
Justin and Sem both started as breakers with a profound love for the movement concept of Threading. After taking their own journey through the dance world, their paths crossed in 2019. Since then they have been training, researching and creating together and they collaborated on many different projects. This resulted in their theatre work Brothers, which premiered during HWLAN at Korzo in The Hague. Since then, they performed Brothers at many different festivals, collaborated on music videos and developed their own workshop methodology around the philosophy and principles of the piece

Tan a prop -Júlia Godino & Alexa Moya - JC. Arevalo
JC. Arevalo

Tan a prop

by Júlia Godino Llorens & Alexa Moya Panksep

About the choreography Tan a prop
In Tan a prop, the two performers encounter each other on a solidified sculpture a concave, tiny, firm yet fragile platform, symbolizing the complicity of bodies in intimacy. On it, they test the limits of balance and cooperation to stay atop, reflecting human relationships: vulnerability and strength, being present with the other. Working with an external element, both dancers and audience surrender to the unpredictable behavior of a material that does not depend on them. The plaster’s behavior, depending on how it was mixed, poured, and dried, breaks, cracks, or flakes in one way or another, shaping the piece and moving the performers instead of them shaping it.

About the choreographers
Júlia Godino Llorens and Alexa Moya Panksep are dancers and choreographers based in Antwerp and Barcelona, respectively, co-directing the contemporary dance company Les del Picnic, founded in 2018. Their collaboration began with the award-winning duet Picnic on the Moon, and the company has since expanded through interdisciplinary projects, blending dance, sculpture, and live music in works like Residència 0 (2020), Tan A Prop (2021), and Amongst the Green Grass Live the Poppies (2021). Both artists have collaborated with numerous European choreographers and companies. They are currently developing a new piece called Els Dies Raros (Odd Days) and exploring movement-sharing through education and workshops.

Trångt - Tilda Åsberg & Albert Buchreitz

Trångt

by Tilda Åsberg & Albert W. Buchreitz

About the choreography Trångt
In a small space two characters find their way to challenge the borders of their worlds. Finding true meaning in what at first glance might appear insignificant. As they yield to their environment, they uncover new ways to connect, adapt, and redefine their physical and emotional landscapes. Trångt explores the unbound potential a physical limitation can provide and how the smallest shifts in perspective can open infinite possibilities. Through movement, proximity, and resistance, the piece invites the audience to witness the beauty that emerges when space is both a boundary and a source of transformation.

Prior to ArtEZ Albert has been training in musical theatre where his interest in combining multiple disciplines began. Whispers of an ending - Giovanni Napoli - Jan-Pieter Fuhr
Jan-Pieter Fuhr

Whispers of an ending

by Giovanni Napoli

About the choreography Whispers of an ending
Whispers of an ending is an intimate portrait of what remains when a relationship comes to an end: when words no longer find their place, ears stop listening, and bodies dissolve into distant worlds, like finding yourself in a foreign land, far from home, where all that remains is the echo of an unknown language, a sound we can barely understand. It is a journey into the fragility of endings, into that profound solitude where the soul wanders. But it is also a celebration of life, because right there, in the ending, lies a secret: it is not void that awaits us, but a hidden new beginning.

About the choreographer
Giovanni Napoli began his studies in Palermo (Italy) and soon embarked on a professional dance career. He first joined the Junior Balletto di Toscana and after he became part of MM Contemporary Dance Company. In 2013, he moved to Cologne to join InCompany. Since 2019, he has been a soloist at Staatstheater Augsburg. Alongside his performing career, he has developed a strong voice as a choreographer, gaining recognition both nationally and internationally. He has created works for several prestigious companies, including Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater, Theater Lüneburg, Theater Plauen-Zwickau, Staatstheater Augsburg, Delattre Dance Company, DART, Compagnia EgriBianco Danza and DAF.

Viscum - Noé CHAPSAL - Virginie Terroitin
Virginie Terroitin

VISCUM

by Noé Chapsal

About the choreography VISCUM
Viscum is a bold and attractive danse essay where the body is fully engaged.
Beyond the form, this piece talks of intensity, of attempts – as exhausting as beautiful – to walk towards the other, consent, and the fair distance between two bodies.
Using a lightning, acrobatic and feline gesture, two individuals dressed in black leather clink against one another and follow along in a tight space. During 35 breathless minutes, they go through clumsy, violent and moving steps to meet each other.

About the choreographer
Noé is a self-taught dancer and choreographer, he trained in the world of competitions. In 2014, Noé won the title of French solo champion (Red bull bc one France), and several international group competitions. The notoriety these awards have brought him has led him to travel and discover hip-hop dance in different countries, where he have forged a comprehensive and critical view of it.
7 years ago, a meeting with a teacher specializing in functional body analysis changed his relationship with the body, opening him up to a deconstruction of his dance, and a more multifaceted aesthetic.
Noé began working as a performer in 2018 and went on to work with hip-hop and contemporary companies such as Mellina Boubetra, Ayaghma, Chey Jurado and Naïf Production.

In 2024, he created my own company, Les corps jetés, and presented his first piece : Viscum.
The performance, which received rave reviews at the Avignon Festival in 2024 at the Théâtre des Hivernales, is now on tour, with thirty dates planned for the coming year. Viscum also won a prize at the Sobanova Dance Awards in Paris.

Mirror Maze - Laura (Mielle) Perron, William-Nicolas Tanguay - Laura Perron
Laura Perron

Mirror Maze

by Laura (Mielle) Perron & William-Nicolas Tanguay

About the choreography Mirror Maze
Mirror Maze is a contemporary duet that teeters between entertainment and unease, unpacking how our modern society glorifies and distorts sexuality and youth. The piece exposes the fine line between innocence and suggestion, of what is entertaining as opposed to scandalous. Sensuality drives the work—both as an emotional (sensual) and physical (sensuous) experience—where anticipation builds but never fully resolves.
Like a maze of mirrors, our sexuality reflects our deepest aspirations—but also our illusions. What we perceive as an individual expression is, in reality, a simulacrum of the multitude, an echo of collective expression

About the choreographers
Laura (Mielle) is based in Montreal since 2019, Laura is the co-founder and choreographic director of the Willow collective, which she established in 2018 alongside William-Nicolas Tanguay. Her career as a performer naturally evolved to include production, choreography, and artistic direction, notably through Roman.e, a 30-minute original work commissioned by Tel-Aide Montréal and presented at La TOHU, and Mirror Maze, a 10-minute original work that will be presented this summer at Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD). In her early career, she independently produced a solo project (A Prayer, 2020) and 2 short films (Call You at Noon, 2021, Outside In, 2022).

William is originally from Lac-St-Jean, William-Nicolas moved to Quebec City in 2014 to pursue dance training at EDQ. In 2018, he participated in Révolution alongside Laura Perron, marking the beginning of their duo and their company, Willow Seeds. For the past three years, he has specialized in creation, production, and artistic consulting, collaborating with Fleuve | Espace danse, C2 Montréal, Agence Gustav, and Corpus Collectif. Simultaneously, he is pursuing studies in linguistic anthropology at UdeM to enrich his practice through a transdisciplinary approach blending arts and sciences.

In my shoes - Nikita Zdravkovic 2

In my shoes

by Nikita Zdravkovic

About the choreography In my shoes
This piece explores the hidden stories we keep locked away—truths we fear sharing because of judgment. It delves into the inner child we protect yet struggle to outgrow, the fears we nurture even as we try to escape them, and the quiet obsessions that shape us in ways we don’t fully understand. It’s about the contradictions we live with, the secrets that define us, and the tension between wanting to be seen and needing to hide.

About the choreographer
Nikita Zdravković is a dynamic ballet artist whose career has taken him from Belgrade, Serbia, to some of Europe’s most distinguished stages. He began his professional journey in 2017 at the Dortmund Opera, first as a member of the Junior Company before advancing to the Dortmund Ballet. His exceptional artistry and technical prowess soon led him to the Staatsoper Hannover in 2019.
Beyond his work as a dancer, Zdravković has embraced his own creative voice, exploring the art of choreography. His time in Hannover provided him with a platform to develop his first independent projects, allowing him to step into the role of a creator and push the boundaries of his artistic expression.
With a career shaped by innovation, discipline, and a deep passion for movement, Nikita Zdravković continues to evolve as both a performer and choreographer, leaving an indelible mark on the world of contemporary ballet.

Push and Pull -Lai Hung-chung - Franco Wang
Franco Wang

Push and Pull

by Lai Hung-chung

About the choreography Push and Pull
Push and Pull centers on push and pull as core movement language, questioning how we find balance within contradictions. The piece reveals equilibrium as endless adjustment and adaptation. LAI Hung-chung fuses Tai Chi philosophy with principles of physics, creating a dialogue where dancers LEE Kuan-ling and LU Ying-chieh investigate proximity through weight transfers, suspended glides, exploring distances and tensions between bodies. Their interplay reflects Taiwanese society, addressing sovereignty and gender issues while examining how we position ourselves within collective spaces. Through this physical dialogue, the work seeks an unnamed balance between opposing forces—a metaphor for our shared human experience.

About the choreographer
Lai Hung-chung, Taiwan National University of Arts graduate, founded HUNG DANCE in 2017, transforming Taiwanese choreography. His work fuses Tai Chi elements with contemporary concepts, creating innovative dance vocabulary. In 2016, he won record-setting gold and three awards at Taiwan Creative Dance Competition. For what is to come

by Maciej Kuźmiński

About the choreography For what is to come

In 2022 the biggest refugee crisis since World War Two was caused by Russian military aggression on Ukraine. As a result 8 million Ukrainian refugees fled their homes within 2 months. For what is to come portrays the power of compassion in the face of an individual’s crisis. It is a tribute to Polish women, who played an extraordinary role in supporting refugee women and children from Ukraine, becoming their confidants and companions in homes, night shelters or therapy offices.

Slowly, like a falling wase, I gather my strength before the dams open, don’t let them.
Me of memory, of projected past onto the present, in exile from peace, still in stillness.
But then her kind presence is transition, stillness is moved, and I believe again.
Find a human-like shape and depart. One step at a time.

About the choreographer
Born in 1985 in Poland, living in Rotterdam since 2023, Maciej Kuźmiński is a choreographer of the transformation generation that remembers the world without cellphones and Internet, and his country changing from socialism to democracy. RAKKE - Louis Thuriot

RAKKE

by Louis Thuriot and Patricia George

About the choreography RAKKE

A piece performed by mother and son. ”Rakke” is a West Flemish (West Vlaams) word meaning “quarrel.” This piece is inspired by (our) family conflicts and the complex emotions they bring such as shame, pride, frustration, anger, and loss of control. Fights between parents and children have many layers, and by exploring them, we found a lot of inspiration. We noticed recurring patterns and asked ourselves: What sparks a fight? What is feeding the fight? How does it eventually resolve? These emotions are the foundation of our work, shaping the piece into our own personal story.

About the choreographer

Louis Thuriot (1996, Belgium) studied at Codarts and interned with PDC by Club Guy and Roni. He danced with TanzMainz (2018-2022) and Opera Ballet Flanders (2022-2024), working with choreographers like Alain Platel, Sharon Eyal and Rafaële Giovanola. In 2024, he became a freelance artist, exploring new creative collaborations.

Patricia George studied accordion and chamber music at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, earning First Prizes in both.
She toured globally with “La Tristeza Complice” by Alain Platel and collaborated with various production houses.
As a performing musician she writes her own music for Duo Accell (www.duoaccell.be).
